Orphan Drug status for SymbioTec

On December 20th 2007 the European Commission awarded to SymbioTec’s active ingredients of its product, ONCOHIST, the Orphan Medicinal Product Designation for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

SymbioTec received the opinion of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Product (COMP) on November 26th 2007: “The COMP … is of the opinion that: … the medicinal product satisfies the criteria for designation …; and the sponsor has established, … that … the above-mentioned medicinal product will be of significant benefit to those affected by that condition” (AML).
